News Ubuntu Linux-based operating systems that were previously rumored to prepare its presence in the smartphone and tablet does not appear likely not the word 'wind' ago. Now the most popular desktop operating system's output Canonical has officially launched its new product called 'Ubuntu for Android'.
The new release of these new products bring the full Ubuntu desktop computing experience that is installed on the smartphone Android along with environmental standards. This new product allows users to run Ubuntuk from Android smartphone, how to install the device into a dock connected to the keyboard and monitor.
But not just Ubuntu virtualization applications on the phone, the developers also have brought together this Ubuntu architecture kernel runs on top of Android and is designed in such a way that works well on dual-core ARM CPU.
Interestingly users still have access to all Google applications such as Market, contacts, make and receive calls and perform other activities such as editing and displaying images, video. Even the receipt of information to all email, SMS or notification will still be there so that the device still works just like a smart phone.
Although similar to the Motorola WebTop platform, but Ubuntu for Android is bringing more a more comprehensive application integration with the Android platform. Ubuntu applications are at present in other inter Android smartphone Web browser Chronium, Thunderbird email client, Gwibber microblogging application, VLC player and much more. Besides Ubuntu for Android is also able to use the Android mobile connectivity 3G, HSDPA and 4G.
To install the new product is required Ubuntu Android phone with dual or quad core ARM processor with at least 512 MB of memory. In addition this product can only be installed on the handset that have HDMI ports.
For now Canonical has no plans to produce a cell phone or a special dock to run this product, but its founder Mark Shuttelworth discuss this new product on his blog and will be demonstrated at the Mobile World Congress next week.
As quoted from ExtremeTech, Ubuntu for Android is not an Ubuntu Mobile operating system such as Canonical's planned launch of 2014. Canonical is working hard to create a complete operating system itself to compete with Android.
